You can then see the exact resolution given around different parts of the scheme and that they match the requirements in the spec.

Did you know that client specifications tend to include prescribed levels of pixels per square metre on a human or vehicle target for different parts of the site? Of course not, why would you? The DORI scheme defines exactly what they need, it literally specifies for any given camera, how far away each band of resolution can be achieved. We use industry recognised software to measure these bands, the difference between being able to see a person on a camera, and hitting your client’s DORI requirements as specified by them could be subtle, but it could run to an under specification of your cameras which could come off your bottom line. Whilst the specification may contain a lot of detail, in order to provide a SSAIB certificate of conformity there needs to have been a risk analysis and system design proposal put forward as part of your tender. If this isn’t done, even if you hit the client specification – you may fail to provide a scheme that is compliant.
